Full-time, tenure-track faculty position to teach undergraduate Business courses on campus within the School of Arts and Sciences. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the Chair of the Department of Business and Sport Management. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Business and Sport Management, the Dean of the School of Business, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Teach courses in business (strategy, marketing, finance, accounting and other business-related disciplines) according to graduate training and experience. A normal teaching load is 24 credits each year.
Qualified applicants may be considered for the role of Chair of the Department of Business and Sport Management
Advise students in the Department of Business and Sport Management.
Stay abreast of scholarly developments in specific and relevant fields as well as current teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and assessment.
Contribute to the field of business and/or the profession of college-level teaching.
Support the mission, goals and objectives of Crown College
Engage in general faculty responsibilities that including but not limited to: participation in department and faculty meetings, care of students, Crown College committee assignments, and at least 10 hours of scheduled office hours per week to be available to students.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated experience and expertise teachingbusiness courses at the college level.
Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education
Established ability to work effectively as a team member
Demonstrate excellence in spoken, written and electronic communication skills
Ability to integrate collegiate teaching and the Christian faith
Experience evaluating students’ work and reporting results promptly
Hands-on experience in the business field through previous work and/or consulting experience and external business relationships preferred
Ability and willingness to stay abreast of the fast-changing business environment in order to maintain relevancy in teaching business courses to college-level students
Agreement and personal alignment with the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s level degree in a business-related field
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness
Professional business experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to the above minimum qualifications):
A PhD in business-related field
5+ years of full-time teaching experience, especially in Christian higher education
Academic leadership skills to serve as chair of the department
Familiarity and/or experience with standards and assessments
Experience using computer technology in the teaching/learning process
