The Membership Development Officer (MDO) is responsible for coordinating and increasing membership recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts to meet the FDA’s membership goals. The MDO collaborates with others to develop and implement activities that work to attract and engage members. This role generates leads and follows up on prospective member leads generated from volunteer leaders, members, FDA staff, and other sources. This position reports to the Director of Member Relations. This is a remote position based in South Florida that requires travel in the S. FL area. The candidate must live in S. Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in the development and implementation of membership recruitment, retention and engagement activities
Coordinates and builds positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve membership goals, including, but not limited to: 1) local dental societies; LGP/DSO-supported practices; 3) new dentists and new members; and, 4) dental schools, post-doctoral dental programs, faculty, students and residents
Communicates member benefit programs and services to members and prospects.
Generates own leads and follows up on leads on prospective members generated from volunteer leaders, members, FDA staff and other sources
Coordinates quarterly membership updates
Assists with student affairs activities
Represents the organization at professional events
Partners with members to recruit new members
Interacts with a diverse membership
Evening and weekend meetings may be required, with occasional overnight travel.
