Orrick has an exciting opening for a Lateral Partner Recruiting Assistant who is ready to be challenged and build a career within an AmLaw Top 100 law firm. This position could be based in any of our U.S. offices (Austin; Boston; Chicago; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Menlo Park; Orange County, Portland, Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica, Seattle, Washington DC or Wheeling, WV).
In this role, you will play an integral part on the firm’s lateral partner recruiting team. You will seamlessly organize meetings for partner candidates, gather and assemble related materials and closely monitor meetings as they are taking place, ensuring everything runs smoothly, attendees are reminded of meeting times and any updates and changes are communicated. You will also provide calendar management and administrative support to the Chief Growth and Integration Officer.
Responsibilities
Manage very hectic calendar of Chief Growth and Integration Officer
Prepare partner candidate meeting packages that include agenda and bios of Orrick participants
Manage frequent changes to interview schedules as they occur and alert participants, as appropriate
Monitor meetings to ensure technology is working and participants are present
Collect feedback after interviews
Reserve conference rooms and arrange for refreshments, make external lunch or dinner reservations for meetings, interact with Lawyers Travel Services when needed
Assist with organization and management of information related to potential candidates
Obtain appropriate marketing and collateral material for candidates and search firms
Maintain library of current recruiting decks, Orrick partner bios and other recruiting-related material
Engage in frequent professional communication with outside recruiters, senior partners and others within Orrick
Calendar management for partner recruiting team as requested
General administrative assistance including preparation and submission of expense reimbursements
Technology requirements
Heavy Outlook calendaring and email
Create Zoom links
Word processing, including Excel
Generate slides or decks, generally in PowerPoint
Become proficient in and comfortable with our applicant tracking system
Job Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent work experience is required
1 to 3 years of experience in professional services environment
Possess an enthusiastic approach to client service, and strong organization/time management skills
Detail-oriented
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, PDF creation, and Excel
Flexibility working with various departments
Research and proofreading ability
Ability to take direction and multi-task
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to use discretion while working with confidential information
Ability to juggle competing urgent priorities
Strong interpersonal skills

The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, relevant experience, primary work location, market data, and internal equity. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
