POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL LEARNING SPECIALIST
Saint Ann’s School, an independent, non-sectarian day school enrolling 1098 students in prekindergarten through high school, is seeking a Learning Specialist beginning mid-August 2022 for grades 4-12. This new position will work closely with the other two full-time learning specialists in the middle and high schools and help run our Teaching and Learning Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide 1:1 academic and organizational support for high school students
Oversee the standardized testing accommodations process for high school students, including consultation with families
Work with students in small-group settings across grades 4-12 in our Teaching and Learning Center
Observe students in classroom environment
Teach strategies for executive functioning across the curriculum
Collaborate with members of student support department through twice weekly meetings (once by department and once by division)
Develop and lead faculty professional development workshops on supporting students with learning differences and executive functioning challenges in the classroom
Read, interpret and summarize neuropsychological evaluations to create and implement school learning and accommodation plans
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent
Several years experience working in a school setting with middle or high school aged students, preferably an independent school
Experience supporting students and teachers in both math and literacy based academic work
Experience supporting students grades 4th-12th in both 1:1 and small group settings
Training in teaching executive functioning skills and a passion for working with neurodiversestudents to develop these skills across subject areas
Exceptional communication, writing and organizational skills

Interpersonal Skills: Superior interpersonal skills, the ability to engage sensitively and effectively with students, families, faculty and other members of the school community in a way reflective of the school’s culture and to project professional competence, leadership capability, discretion, judgment and personal maturity
Collaborative spirit: Proven track record as a team player in dynamic environments and among a diverse community of colleagues
Wit, intelligence, empathy, humor and equanimity expected
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time position with a base salary range of $80,000-$90,000, commensurate with education and experience.
