Job Description Under the general direction, the Associate Athletic Director for SDA Finance performs administrative functions by assisting with planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Office of Sun Devil Athletics (SDA), including but not limited to budgeting and expense approval for select SDA teams and administrative units, oversight of daily financial operations, and capital project budgeting. Serves as SDA's primary financial contact with Purchasing, Risk Management, Financial Operations, Anthony Travel, and the ASU Foundation and Sun Devil Club. Reports to the Associate Athletics Director, Finance. Ensures that goals and objectives are met with strict adherence to NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations, as well as policies and procedures of the department, the University, and the Arizona Board of Regents.

Assists in the management of Sun Devil Athletics (SDA) Finance Office.
Supervises Finance Office staff members.
Assists in the development, planning, and implementation of the $110M athletics department budget. Specifically responsible for monitoring and accurately projecting most revenue categories and operating expenses for select teams and administrative units, based on input from other relevant SDA departments.
Assists in the development of multi-year financial planning and capital project budgeting.
Oversees the financial operations for the Sun Angel Foundation, including monthly financial reporting, annual audit and development of financial policies and procedures.
Serves as the SDA Finance Office chief contact with the ASU Foundation, including oversight of daily financial activity, fund monitoring and disbursement requests.
Assists with the preparation of financial audits and reporting for the athletics department including but not limited to the NCAA Financial Report and associated audit, and the Equity in Athletic Disclosure Act financial report.
Assists with contract research and negotiations for athletic department vendor contracts.
Assists Senior Associate AD/CFO with communication with the Sun Angel Foundation Board and the Sun Angel Foundation Audit Committee.
Signature authority on all SDA accounts.
Assists the Associate AD, Finance with developing SDA financial policies.
Assists the Associate AD, Finance with oversight of the daily operations and long-term goal-setting for the Finance Office.
In conjunction with the Senior Associate AD, Finance and Associate AD, Finance, responsible for ensuring the successful financial performance of SDA.
Represents the Athletic Department at Conference and/or University Committee meetings.
Represents ASU’s and SDA’s mission, vision and values. Serves as exemplar for personal/professional integrity.
Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field AND six (6) years administrative experience, which includes four (4) years of supervisory experience within a collegiate athletics program; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Experience working in an athletics finance/business department
Experience with payment vouchers, purchasing cards, reimbursements and travel expenses
Experience proposing, writing and communicating relevant policies
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as it relates to business operations
Evidence of effective communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of laws, regulations, and University administrative policies and procedure.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA and Pac-12.
Demonstrated knowledge of management principals and practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory principals and practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of budget management methods and techniques.
Demonstrated skill in problem solving and decision-making.
Experience in planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities and establishing priorities.
Experience in organization and communication.
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%)
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%)
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
