• Teach physical education to elementary students
• Assist in developing curriculum
• Work with homeroom teachers and other specialists to promote cross-curricular integration
• Update curriculum maps/benchmarks annually to reflect changes
• Communicate with faculty in the physical education department in the middle school to ensure continuity between campuses
• Assess student progress and maintain records, write reports, communicate with parents as necessary
• Organize annual Field Day in the spring
• Facilitate an after-school club
• Coach at the middle school and/or upper school
• Fulfill lunch, recess and/or dismissal duties
• Nurturing an inclusive environment in which all students can participate fully and have a sense of belonging

Qualifications     

• Bachelor degree in Physical or elementary Education; advanced degree preferred
• Lower school teaching experience preferred
• Experience with Canvas or other Leaning Management Systems is preferred
• Proficient use of technology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional collegiality and enthusiasm for young people required
