THE LEADER
The Assistant Director of Annual Fund and Community Engagement Coordinatoris an adept fundraiser and community building leadership professional who will work closely with the Advancement Team and the Communications and Marketing Team. This person will plan, coordinate and execute the Brooklyn Friends Fund annual giving campaign, managing the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual donors. This person will also serve as the primary liaison to the Brooklyn Friends and Families (Family and Parent organization) for all of their events, committee work and overall support system, coordinating the communication of all school messaging to the Brooklyn Friends Fund. The Assistant Director will dually report to the Director of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships and the Associate Director of Digital Content and All School Events.
Primary Responsibilities:
Brooklyn Friends Fund:
In concert with the Director of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships, create and manage a comprehensive fundraising plan for the Annual Fund and annual fundraising initiatives of the school to include but not limited to:
Setting dollar, participation and qualitative goals for the annual giving program.
Creating and managing a calendar/schedule of the annual fund giving opportunities.
Manage special fundraiser activities in collaboration with advancement and communication teams.
Manage and oversee the preparation of fundraising materials, appeal letters, and other publications as necessary.
Manage and oversee fundraising volunteers including recruitment, training and scheduling of volunteer commitments.
Solicit key donors for the Annual Fund. Research prospective donors, current donors and new parents. Identify leadership candidates for annual, capital and planned giving
Produce analytical reports to assess growth, changes, trends in giving. Utilize Raiser’s Edge to track constituent activity.
Coordination of Senior Legacy Gift
Lead collaboratively with the Advancement and Communication teams for core team functions including:
Alumni relations and alumni giving efforts.
Special events related to fundraising and stewardship efforts.
Fundraising presence on public websites and social media channels.
Brooklyn Friends and Families (BFF):
In partnership with the Associate Director of Digital Content and All School Events, lead family volunteers in creating and executing existing and new BFF events from small committee meetings to larger internal and external events (i.e., WinterFest, Spring Gala, Block Party).
Serve as school-wide liaison for the Brooklyn Friends and Families (BFF) and oversees adherence to school policies.
In collaboration with BFF Leadership, manage the maintenance and oversight of systems, processes and procedures for coordination between BFF and BFS Leadership.
Partners with the Director of Communications and Marketing to manage communications protocols for BFF messaging to the community.
Coordinate BFS financial and personnel resources for BFF related events.
Manage and coordinate on-site communications during BFF events.
Manage and oversee data collection and reporting (auction, ticket sales, etc) for events as necessary.
Front line coordinator with external vendors involved in BFF events.
Qualifications and Characteristics Sought:

Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software.
Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
A dedicated life-long learner.
Prior experience in a fundraising environment required, educational environment preferred.
3-5 years of experience in independent school fundraising.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Physical Requirements of the Job
Must be able to work in an office environment including prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to stand, bend over, twist and reach to access file cabinets, bookshelves and navigate office and workstation spaces.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Union Status: Non-Union
Salary Range: $84,100 - $91,600
This salary range represents the expected annual salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your education level, experience, and other job-related factors.
