ICON Arts Academy seeks its first-ever Director of Admission to develop and implement the admission program for this new high school and gap year program dedicated to arts education. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Admission serves an influential role in strategically shaping the school’s student body. Most immediately, this role will be at the ground level in the creation of exciting new and ongoing recruitment programs critical to the School’s launch. Located in the heart of Iowa City, ICON Arts Academy combines a comprehensive college-preparatory curriculum with a commitment to nurturing a love for performing arts, visual arts, writing, and film.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
ICON Arts Academy seeks an exceptional professional to join our outstanding community. The Director of Admission is responsible for managing all aspects of student recruitment, the admission process, and supporting retention efforts for the ICON campus. The Director is a member of ICON’s Senior Leadership Team and will report to the Head of School, renowned dance school director, Leslie Nolte. As a senior leader at ICON, the Director is expected to be a role model, promote professional practices, and embody the values and mission of the School within the context of the arts.
This is a full-time (exempt), benefits-eligible positionwith an ideal start date of June 1, 2023, or sooner.
Primary Areas of Responsibility:
Lead strategy in the preparation and execution of admissions events, including tours, admission coffees, outreach events, admission fairs, etc.
Create and manage all admissions files (both digital and hard files) and ensure accuracy, completion, and timeliness in record keeping for review.
Effectively communicate with internal and external communities while having a congenial attitude and positive spirit about ICON (including answering the admissions phone, confirming appointments, and ensuring all inquiries, requests, and messages are communicated to appropriate parties and responded to accordingly).
Assist in creating, organizing, and preparing various admissions materials throughout the year.
Coordinate the update of admission documents, calendars, and the school website.
Coordinate with marketing partners to ensure enrollment goals are being addressed.

Proficiency with Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.);
Experience with an arts or education organization is preferred; appreciation of the power of the arts is essential.
