Position Summary The Assistant Athletic Director works closely with the Athletic Director and Associate Athletic Director to support the daily functions, success, and growth of the athletic department. This position also has the potential to be configured to include PE Department Chair responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate athletic facilities and set-ups for practices and games
Serve as athletic department equipment manager
The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for maintaining the Athletics’ Website, social media pages and updating all scores and schedules
Assist in management of all Media Days, Senior Days, Awards Ceremonies and Special Event Banquets
Serve as a game supervisor/administrator for home and some away contests
Provide hospitality to visiting teams and officials
Assist in the development of a college recruiting program
Assist with the hiring, evaluation, mentoring and supervision of coaches
Additional responsibilities to include other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, sport management, education administration, or related discipline is required, with a master’s degree preferred
The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as proficiency in applicable technology (e.g., athletic website, school database, FHSAA management system - Home Campus, etc.), cross-cultural competence, and dynamic interpersonal skills
High-energy, self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in an atmosphere in which time-sensitive deadlines are the norm, as are interruptions
They also should have coaching experience and the ability to contribute directly to one of the Saint Andrew’s varsity teams
