The creative industry is of the utmost importance to college athletic departments as we help to generate revenue, build strong and loyal fan bases, and aim to deliver digital and physical gameday experiences that are unmatched. To do so, it takes extraordinary individuals that bring energy, creativity, and passion for the impact they have on the experiences of our student-athletes, donors and alumni, and fan base.
Clemson University is seeking one (1) highly motivated individual who wants to earn an advanced degree in the classroom and receive comprehensive mentorship and exposure within the creative field. Candidates will serve as primary sport contact(s), have emphasis on long form content in association with Clemson+ as well as provide input and assistance on overall social strategies. The student will be mentored by the Creative Solutions staff, with additional exposure to coaches, support staff, student-athletes and undergraduate students.
Interested students should have a bachelor's degree in an associated creative field, marketing, communications, or another related field; excellent communication (both verbal and written) across all levels of the department, and organizational skills; willingness to work evening, weekend and holiday hours; demonstrated experience in the creative industry; strong computer skills; must be able to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously; display a creative mindset and willingness to think outside the box when it comes to overall produced content.
Additional consideration will be given to those with experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (i.e. Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, After Effects); Have worked with production software for videoboard, music, and lighting programs; Have experience with social media management.
Throughout this experience, the student will be provided opportunities to apply concepts and theories from the classroom to an intercollegiate athletic environment. Opportunities include:
• Serving as the primary creative contact for assigned sport(s)
• Editing and producing shows and documentary content for Clemson Athletics video platforms. Producing long-form video story-driven video pieces. Producing supplementary content as promotional material for social media platforms across all sites and Clemson owned accounts
• Producing, directing and/or editing audio content including but not limited to podcasts, talk shows and live stream applications
• Develop schedules for each project and ensure that projects are completed on time.
• Working collaboratively with communications and marketing units to develop full content plans.
• Executing student engagement plans, including email communications, managing student engagement social platforms, on-campus promotions and student section integrations.
• Assist with day-to-day social management of assigned sports alongside the Director of Creative Solutions
• Serving as a leader to the 20+ creative interns. Oversee planning and engagement opportunities alongside the Director(s) of creative solutions
• Maintaining relationships with student-athletes, coaching staffs, and administrators.
• Supporting the overall goals of the creative team as needed.
