Location: We are a remote-first company. This role can be based anywhere in the US.

The Opportunity

The Staff Accountant is an important position on the Finance team that will ensure the financial integrity of our financial reporting process, prepare monthly financial reporting activities, drive process improvements and strengthen our internal control structure. This position reports directly to the Accounting Lead.

 Your day-to-day

• Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, income statements and balance sheet flux analysis
• Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to document and incorporate new transactions or processes into the GL
• Review operating expense accounts for accuracy and provide proactive analysis to identify issues
• Identify process and control improvement opportunities and work with management and peers to implement appropriate changes
• Lead and contribute to the implementation of new or enhancements of current accounting systems, programs, and procedures
• Communicate issues and resolutions to management and affected areas/departments
• Maintain a solid understanding and ensure compliance with accounting policies 
• Cross train with other team members to ensure coverage of all accounting areas
• Support ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned

What you bring to the team

• 2-5 years relevant Accounting experience.
• 2+ years experience in the Financial/Banking industry 
• Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, logic formulas, vlookup, sum functions)
• Ability to analyze complex problems and recommend corrective actions
• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points

• Oracle ERP system experience 
• Prior experience in Treasury cash management and/or Debt accounting 
• Big 4 accounting firm experience

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $80,000-100,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
