The IAM Strategy & Solution Architect’s role is a technical position which will support the development of technical strategies and architecture for global initiatives, specifically setting the direction for Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions under ISO (Information Security Organization). The Architect will work directly with other Product / Platform / Enterprise / Application Architects, Developers, Operational resources, Consultants and Vendors to envision, design and build solutions for globally dispersed businesses, customers and workers, while ensuring alignment with Enterprise IT and Security strategies.
Subject-matter expertise across all IAM topics as it relates to both cloud and on-premises enterprise technology, and the relationship between the architectures.
Drive the adoption of IAM reference architectures for existing, new and emerging IAM technologies.
Architecting IAM solutions within Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
Drive the adoption of creative solutions to address complex, global IAM problems.
Develop effective architecture solutions that not only satisfy immediate project requirements but also deliver a coherent, reusable, reliable and phased architecture to help the business grow and change while aligning to strategic vision.
Create, maintain and align the firm’s IAM / ISO policies and standards with industry best practices and business needs in the adoption of cloud services and technologies.
Govern the successful technical delivery of IAM projects and services by working directly with key business stakeholders, executives and project teams. IAM architects are often the technical lead on initiatives and as such must drive the vision and alignment of the solution delivery. This is not a project manager role.
Review and management of technical roadmaps related to IAM, including but not limited to, within a cloud security context.
Deliver technical security configuration architecture expertise in implementing cross-organizational information sharing.
Develop solutions and recommendations for issues caused by process challenges, emerging threats and technology changes.
Identify opportunities and outline action plans to improve how existing IAM solutions are implemented.
Work with the broader IT security, risk and compliance organization (ITSRC) to interpret policies and standards, ensuring policies and standards are properly followed by new and existing IAM solutions.
Mentor other IAM Senior Engineers and Developers.
Contribute to conducting POCs, evaluation, selection and configuration of IAM products and services from vendors.
Work with application developers and IT operations to develop, test, roll out and maintain enterprise-wide IAM solutions and services as necessary.
Support in troubleshooting and resolving complex problems as necessary.
Represents the IAM organization on large scale technology projects implemented outside IAM, regulatory reviews and internal and external audits.
