Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Quality, Safety, and Risk Prevention seeks an IT Project Manager to support the development of the data literacy and training program for VUMC analytics and reporting teams. In addition, the role will manage the day-to-day activities necessary to operate this program and track metrics for program evaluation. They will be responsible for coordinating between VUMC analytics teams while working with identified subject matter experts to design, plan, and schedule learning courses. The role will also communicate with learning stakeholders, manage participants post-training surveys, and develop and maintain a resource library of established trainings.
The position requires outstanding communication and organizational skills to effectively manage project timelines, engage team members, support project execution and analysis, and facilitate high-quality deliverables. The position also requires an intermediate amount of analytics and reporting skills, ability to learn and utilize tools, resources, and learning platforms to manage the program, and good problem solving and team management and collaboration skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with project stakeholders to gain understanding of VUMC-utilized reporting and analytics tools, analytics and reporting teams, data development processes and workflows, and available learning tools and platforms.
- Establish, manage, and coordinate the Vanderbilt Enterprise and Reporting (VERA) training workgroup with representation from analytics and reporting leaders across the enterprise.
- Participate in and lead meetings with project collaborators, including preparing/presenting project updates, scheduling meetings, and delivering meeting agendas and minutes.
- Provide a framework and tools for course content development to subject matter experts.
- Based on inputs from analytics and reporting leadership, establish a menu of desired courses, identify the training format (including online resources), and engage with subject matter experts.
- Support VUMC training subject matter experts by independently researching and identifying existing, relevant training resources in data analytics and visualization for inclusion into the training curriculum.
- Assist with developing training materials.
- Develop and maintain a platform to house an online resource library for data analytics and visualization learning, including writing descriptions of content.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, such as scheduling, advertising, video conferencing, hosting, and attendee evaluations.
- Utilize feedback provided to help the training subject matter experts and the VERA Training Workstream group to enhance the training content over time.
- Provide leadership in the execution of day-to-day project activities.
- Organize project materials, track progress, and maintain a schedule of projects and timelines.
- Draft project-related documents, reports, and presentations for analytics and reporting, clinical, and operational audiences.
- Effectively communicate with collaborators across the institution.
- Assist in the development of program success measures and work with leadership to track progress over time.

QUALIFICATIONS
Success in the IT Project Manager position will require the following qualifications and skills:
- This position requires a Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience. Candidates with Master's level training in Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field are preferred.
- Candidates with project management certification (PMP, etc.) are preferred.
- Experience managing cross-team or cross-functional projects is required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills are required.
- Knowledge of analytics, reporting, or visualization tools is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with managing training programs and their evaluation is preferred, but not required.
- Experience developing and managing web-based platforms is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in health care settings and scientific research is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and prioritize projects effectively.
- Ability to learn new methods, processes, tools and techniques, problem solve and innovate in collaboration with others.
- Recognize areas of responsibility and take charge of them. Proactively identify areas of opportunity for improving the program, present options, and alternatives to enterprise stakeholders, and take ownership of problems identified or brought to their attention.
