Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated, and organized ESG Associate, who is passionate about sustainability, to join the DWS Real Estate ESG team. You will report directly to the Global Head of ESG Real Estate and have a global scope in your work. Our Real Estate ESG team are driving responsible implementation of various environmental, social, and governance initiatives across DWS, and work directly with the wider team to rollout company-wide initiatives. You'll be working on the strategic and operational implementation of the DWS ESG strategy and Net Zero Carbon Initiative and to drive engagement and change within DWS. Your Key Responsibilities:
Further develop and assist with the implementation of the DWS Real Estate ESG strategy and underlying policies and procedures, as well as portfolio-level strategy
Work with consultants, coverage, and portfolio team in responding to RFPs and proactive client engagement
Work with portfolio and asset management teams, and wider illiquid business to raise awareness, upskill, and monitor progress against ESG KPIs and targets
Work with Global Sustainability Office, consultants and other internal teams to co-ordinate reporting and develop internal/external reports that align with common sustainability frameworks (e.g., GRESB, GRI, TCFD etc.)
Work with consultants and asset management teams to review and co-ordinate ESG data collection, ensure data consistency and quality
Review performance, negotiate, and renew supplier contracts
Your Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in ESG management, environmental sciences or similar degree in real estate or finance. Relevant experience and a proven track record in implementing complex sustainability programs
Solid knowledge of the regulatory landscape in the US around real estate, ESG, energy and carbon reduction
Proactive and self-starter with the ability to work independently. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to process and interpret data. Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong understanding of a broad range of corporate social and environmental programs, including Science Based Targets and Net Positive Goals
Advanced knowledge of Word processing tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
