The role youâ™ll contribute:
The Sustainability Sr. Analyst provides comprehensive analytical support to the AdventHealth Sustainability team as a whole. Reporting to the Sustainability Director, the Sustainability Sr. Analyst will own and manage the annual greenhouse gas environmental inventory calculations, operate the environmental system, and prepare reports and dashboards with relevant data. The Sustainability Sr. Analyst will provide timely analyses (whether standard or ad hoc), review data accuracy and perform data quality assurance, own the environmental data system, monitor workflow to ensure data accuracy and integrity, display technical competency working from various data sources, demonstrate a high degree of independence and ownership of projects, and summarize data in visually appealing presentations for decision making. The Sustainability Sr. Analyst should possess knowledge of sustainability and carbon accounting processes that enable them to have a big picture perspective of the sustainability strategy as it is used to further organizational goals and objectives.
The value youâ™ll bring to the team:
Work independently on large scale initiatives in conjunction with ESG Program Manager and Director to calculate emissions, waste and water totals for the organization
Provide significant analytical input into the strategy and scope of initiatives
Use intuition and experience to complement data, ensure data integrity, and accuracy by spotting anomalies in data and communicating that with end users
Complete analyses in a timely fashion and communicate any roadblocks that may hinder timely delivery of data
Demonstrate ownership of monthly analyses and provide support to end users of said analyses
Identify data relationships and dependencies
Summarize findings, and deliver reports that are logical, visually pleasing, and aid in the decision-making process
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences youâ™ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelorâ™s degree in data analytics from a four-year accredited university or college
5 yearsâ™ experience working in sustainability/carbon accounting data analytics or related field
Experience managing extremely large data sets of various modalities
Advanced knowledge of Excel or other databasing software to organize data, develop data models for analysis, and create visualizations
Basic knowledge of one or more business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, QlikView, Oracle Business Intelligence, HPM, Minitab or similar)
Proficiency in performance of basic mathematical and statistical concepts (e.g., regression analysis)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Masters Degree in data analytics, sustainability, carbon accounting or related major
Experience in conducting emissions assessments and developing carbon inventories
Knowledge of sustainability/carbon accounting/ERP systems
Knowledge of environmental sustainability systems (Watershed, Persefoni, Envisi, etc.)
Fundamental understanding of carbon accounting methodologies
Familiarity with energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste management, and other sustainability practices
