With oversight from Design Principal, assist in leading teams of architectural designers on domestic commercial buildings and international mixed-use building types, including office, retail, residential, and hotel, to produce design studies, construction documents, and high-quality presentation materials for client and government approvals. Prepare construction drawings in aid of Building Integrated Modeling (BIM) and drafting software such as Revit and AutoCAD. Develop innovative design solutions and coordinate construction documents and deliverables with specialist consultants with regards to structure, MEP (mechanical, engineering, and plumbing) systems, facade, vertical transportation systems, façade maintenance, lighting, and landscape. Utilize advanced knowledge of tall building fundamentals, including structure and MEP systems, vertical transportation system, curtain wall, building maintenance strategies, egress and fire safety and sustainable design integration. Develop and integrate sustainable green building strategies for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. Account for project regulatory codes, environmental rules and regulations, safety issues, and other design and construction-related factors. Collaborate and manage coordination with consultants from ancillary design disciplines of landscape design, lighting design and interior design in order to hand over a comprehensive building to the client. Liaise with contractors and approve submittals in construction administration phase. Liaise with the client on all design and construction related issues, assess their needs, develop strategies to satisfy their objectives, communicate the direction with the project team and aid their marketing strategy. Utilize Rhino to perform 3D modeling of complex geometries during the design process to resolve complex conditions. Apply advanced knowledge of 3DS Max, V-Ray and Enscape rendering techniques to articulate experiential design ideas and demonstrate spatial quality for client’s understanding. Implement Revit building information modeling techniques and CAD drafting knowledge to generate complete complex construction drawing sets, regulatory agency drawing sets, tender issue drawing sets, consultant coordination drawings and presentation drawings. Use Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign software for high-end visualization and publication quality presentation materials for client meetings, discussion and competition work. Utilize 3D printer such as Ultimaker for exploring massing and design options as economical means. Review and approve submittals, respond to RFIs (Request for Information), issue ASIs (Architect’s Supplemental Instructions), perform site visits and assist clients on government approval application during construction admin phase
