About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 05 The Role: S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking an intern candidate that will be involved in working directly within our Cost & Supply Chain business line . This 10-week summer training program commences in June 2024 and is part of our IMPACT Program. IMPACT ( Innovative Mentoring and Professional Acceleration in Commodities ) is one of our many programs within Commodity Insights aimed at developing early career talent globally. The internship program will run from June 3 rd to August 9 th .
The Team: The Cost and Supply Chain business line guides customers through the new era of energy supply chain by providing unparalleled data and deep insights into traditional Supply C hain, Construction Cost, Operating Cost and emerging markets in renewables, hydrogen, and energy transitioning supply chain.

This comprehensive program is designed to provide recent graduates with valuable exposure and hands-on experience in the energy research field. Through structured training, mentorship, and project-based assignments, you will develop a solid foundation in energy research, gain insights into industry best practices, and contribute to solving real-world challenges. You'll also have the potential opportunity to join the team as a full-time analyst post-graduation
Responsibilities:
Research Support: Collaborate with senior researchers and industry experts to conduct research on various topics , including market analysis, policy evaluations, technological advancements, and environmental impact assessments.
Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to generate insights and develop reports, presentations, and publications.
Project Assistance: Provide support in planning, coordinating, and executing research projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, deliverables, and objectives .
Literature Review: Conduct thorough literature reviews to identify and assess existing research, industry trends, and best practices relevant to gas, power, and climate energy.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to establish and maintain relationships, ensuring effective communication and coordination for collaborative research projects.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare accurate and comprehensive research reports, project summaries, and documentation to share findings, recommendations, and key insights.
Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated with the latest developments in the gas, power, and climate energy sectors, actively participate in team meetings, share knowledge and insights, and contribute to internal knowledge databases.
What We're Looking For:
Interest and familiarity with the energy sector
Fully matriculated undergraduate or graduate students in penultimate year of study (graduation date: Winter 2024 or Summer 2025)
Excellent communication and time management skills
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
