About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 10 The Role: The Market Reporter of Americas chemical and polymer markets is the price reporter and pricing specialist covering Platts suite of spot prices, news, and analysis of the chemical and polymer markets across Latin and North America markets.

Responsibilities: The Market Reporter is responsible for reporting on daily physical trading activity to produce prices by gathering information from a range of contacts in the market, writing daily commentaries explaining the trends driving prices, creating real-time news stories, and participating in multi-media coverage such as webinars and presentations, including representing Commodity Insights at industry events. The reporter is also responsible for engaging with market participants, while building and managing a database of industry contacts. The reporter also identifies opportunities to refine methodology and launch new price assessments with the goal to advance growth in the Chemicals team.

You will assist in identifying, developing, and executing assessment opportunities to drive growth in chemical markets across Latin America and the US.
Basic Required Qualifications :
Education: Journalist.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities, internally and externally.
Self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform well to tight deadlines.
Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
Culturally and socially sensitive.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or knowledge of the chemicals, polymer or refining sectors or a keen interest in commodities and global commodity markets.
Knowledge of economic principles.
Strong numeracy skills including ability to understand the basic principles of statistics and to apply basic maths functions in Excel.
Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position starts at $85,000.00 USD. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
