Eaglebrook is a school for boys in the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. In a warm, caring, structured atmosphere boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. At the heart of the school is the shared life of teachers, their families, and boys working together. Teachers make learning an adventure and watch over each boy’s personal growth. They set the academic tone, coach the teams, serve as dormitory parents, and are available for a boy when he needs a friend. They endeavor to motivate boys to reach beyond the easily attained and help them realize that mistakes can lead to progress.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Articulate the School’s mission, programs, and admissions policies to a broad community
Greet and welcome families to Eaglebrook and describe all aspects of our learning environment and life on the Hill
Interview students and report on each student’s attributes, capabilities, and potential to grow and develop
Serve as the main contact person and information provider for families that are going through the admissions and financial aid processes
Review other student files and serve on selection committees to help in the selection process
Maintain effective relationships with educational consultants and other industry professionals to help further the exposure to new students
Execute various projects and report to the Director with information that can improve the functioning and effectiveness of the office.
Must develop high-level proficiency with Enrollment Management in Blackbaud
Review financial aid documents and reports
Take part in admissions and financial aid committee decisions during selection time
Present department metrics in internal and board meetings in the Director’s absence as requested
Travel on behalf of Eaglebrook for recruitment and represent the school through admission-related events
Plan and participate in special events involving prospective students, consultants, or secondary school admission officers
As needs change and strategic goals are refined, the person in this position will need to flex as required to ensure the success of the program.
Actively support the Parent Ambassador Program with calls and various communications to support the volunteers.
At minimum, the person in this position will travel extensively to domestic schools, be Eaglebrook’s primary representative at private schools within a 150-mile radius of Deerfield, MA, participate in sports events involving our prospective admissions candidates, and engage with camp programs to source target students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience
1-3 years admissions and/or financial aid experience *middle school a plus
Familiarity and/or comfort working in a CRM (preferably Blackbaud)
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Strong, self-motivated work ethic, high energy, and competitive spirit
Appreciation for the value of diverse cultures, backgrounds, and experiences
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a diverse community
Valid driver’s license required
Pass all required background screenings
Willingness to travel to attend school fairs and conferences
In addition to times when the school is in session, the person in this role should expect to work most of August and cover the office during high workload times, including during times when the school is out of session during the academic year. The office team is highly cooperative, and everyone works to ensure that the office is covered as necessary while considering the need for breaks and personal travel plans. Other standard duties include coaching sports (two per year), participating in school events, advising, electives (one or two per year), and attending lunch meals. Since Eaglebrook is a private boarding school, faculty also contribute to school life and act as a role model and mentor for the students throughout the day. Experience in any position in a school/academic setting including supervision of residential life a plus. Place of employment: Deerfield, MA. This is an in-person position.
