Our two-doctor, American Animal Hospital Association ("AAHA")-accredited, small animal practice located in Canton, Georgia is looking for a full-time veterinary technician.
A positive attitude, team-oriented work habits and a love for animals is essential. Previous veterinary technician experience is required.
The Veterinary Technician is responsible for assisting Veterinarians in caring for patients, providing excellent client communication and education, cleaning the examination, treatment and surgery areas and maintaining medical equipment. Some specific responsibilities are as follows: administering injections and performing both jugular and cephalic blood draws; placing IV catheters; monitoring anesthesia; taking radiographs; ultrasonic teeth cleaning; reading laboratory samples for intestinal parasite screenings, urinalysis and ear cytologies; obtaining and recording patient vital signs accurately; updating medical records.

At least one year's experience working as a veterinary technician, including at least 3-6 months experience monitoring anesthesia and working as a technician in the examination room
Flexible schedule, available for some weekend and holiday shifts
Computer skills, previous experience with AviMark software preferred but not required
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures and of pharmacology
Ability to effectively and thoroughly review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients
Physically and mentally able to work efficiently in a fast paced and challenging environment
Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team, responding with grace in stressful situations
Only reliable, hard workers with a desire to learn need apply!
Must be able to restrain and lift pets of all sizes, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
