Employment Category: full-time (10 or 12 months, depending on experience and expertise)
Reports to: Director of Athletics
Kents Hill School is looking for an experienced and visionary professional to foster and grow the Snowsports Program, one of the school’s signature programs and an important part of the ethos of Kents Hill School. We aim to be an inclusive/inviting athletic environment that cultivates a love of the sport among a diverse community of both highly competitive and novice athletes. The ideal candidate will be a community connector who creates and nurtures positive relationships between Kents Hill and community members, both on and off campus. Notably, the Director of Snowsports will build a strong, positive reputation for Kents Hill School in Maine and beyond by bringing energy, enthusiasm, and new ideas for promoting and enhancing visibility of the program. In addition, they will be a strong team player and execute the efforts of the Athletics Department in accordance with the ideals and principles of Kents Hill School.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Director of Snowsports
- Direct/oversee and manage all functions and programs related to snowsports and the Dick and Joanne O’Connor Alpine Training Center

Direct and supervise coaching staff for all on-snow programming, including the KHS Free Ski/Snowboard and Recreational Ski/Snowboard programs

Work with the Athletic Director to manage and allocate budgets for snowsports program and repair and maintenance of Alpine Center Operations

Manage and supervise community learn to ski program (The Kents Hill Ski Club) open to local kids 7-18 years old

Manage and supervise all on snow rentals/outside groups and serve as Race Director for all hosted ski races throughout the season

Collaborate with the Alpine Operations Manager on grooming and snowmaking needs

Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies and collaborative partnerships

Partner with the Director of Athletics to develop a strategic plan for the O’Connor Alpine Center

Collaborate with Admissions to recruit and retain student-athletes for all levels of the snowsports program
Athletics Department

Assists with game day operations (fall and spring)

Direct and manage all KH facilities rentals throughout the academic year

Manage rental inquiries and scheduling of all KH facilities through EZ facility software

Manage billing of rentals, ensure compliance with insurance/ liability releases

All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Student-Facing Work
QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATIONS

USSA certified Alpine Ski Coach (level 100 or higher)

CPR/First Aid and AED Certification

Experience driving heavy equipment

Valid driver's license
