The Events Specialist is responsible for the coordination and successful execution of a variety of marketing initiatives. As part of the Events Team within Marketing & Business Development, the position facilitates coordinating client events in-person and virtually. In-person events take place both within A&B offices and off-site. Off-site events can, and frequently do, include travel to other locations, typically domestic, but sometimes international. Virtual events include management of multiple technology platforms. The Events Specialist will also facilitate firm sponsorships, program e-communications, and help maintain the client entertainment ticket program across offices. The success of these various roles relies heavily on advanced experience in the events space, enhanced technical knowledge, great organizational skills, creativity, ability to easily travel when needed, as well as maintaining a professional presence and leading with a positive client service approach both externally and internally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for organizing and facilitating client programs, including seminars, webinars, receptions, dinners, and special events. Programs can be educational and/or entertainment focused. Tasks can include venue research, determination of technology platform, contract negotiation, budget development and maintenance, internal and external communications, facilitating the generation of program content and related materials, multi-media, décor, gifts, on-site registration, Continuing Legal Education (CLE), reporting, surveys, and follow-up.
Responsible for large sponsorships, which includes coordination with organizations and relevant firm attorneys, negotiation of deliverables, and facilitation of the final sponsorship agreement, to ensure optimal value with firm investment.
Responsible for helping to maintain the client entertainment ticket program across multiple offices, which involves a highly organized system of inventory management, establishing relationships with vendors, on-going internal communications to attorneys, evaluating and determining best-use allocation of tickets, electronic transfer of tickets, detailed recording, tracking and reporting of usage, and research on new opportunities.
Working in multiple firm-wide systems, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom (web platform), InterAction (CRM database), Vuture (client communications distribution), Chrome River (expenses), Concierge Live (client entertainment tickets), and others as needed.
Be a point of contact for vendors, venues, and industry associations.
Work as part of a team with other Marketing & Business Development professionals in all Alston & Bird offices, including the department’s functional teams (Graphics, CRM, RFP, Technology, Communications) and practice area teams (Tax, Corporate, Litigation and Intellectual Property).
Work as part of a team with members of other Alston & Bird departments, including Conference Services, Multi-Media, Continuing Legal Education, Diversity & Inclusion, Pro Bono, and Information Technology.
Perform other marketing and business development related responsibilities and projects as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
8+ years in law firm marketing or other professional services field with a focus on Events.

The salary range in CA for this position is $80,000 – $119,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and locations.
