POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: Girls’ Gymnastics Coach - Varsity & Middle School (grades 5-8)
Saint Ann’s seeks an experienced coach for the winter (high school varsity) and spring (middle school) seasons of gymnastics. Qualified candidates must have previous coaching or competitive experience, and be able to spot skills on floor, uneven bars, vaulting, and balance beam. Choreography experience is strongly preferred.
The Saint Ann’s high school varsity team will begin practices in early November, with three–four meets expected to take place in the month of January. The season concludes in early February. Middle school practices will have a slight overlap, depending on the number of registrants. The middle school season will begin in January and run through late April or early May, with three–four intrasquad meets toward the end of the season.
Practices for high school varsity are expected to run four–five days per week after school (generally for 90 minutes between 3:30–6:30 p.m. depending on student schedules), with the potential for one practice at 7:00 a.m. each week.
Middle school practices are expected to run five days per week after school (generally for 90 minutes between 2:45–6:00 p.m. depending on student schedules).

Communicating effectively with parents/guardians, players, athletic directors, athletic trainers, and school administration
Assisting and/or leading practices of up to 14 participants through warm-ups, skill development, and conditioning
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Maintain certification in CPR/AED, First Aid, USA Gymnastics Safety & Risk Management, and Head Injury Management
Ability to safely and competently spot and direct various gymnastics skills on each of the four women’s disciplines
Demonstrate an understanding of the purpose and value of physical fitness and wellness
Demonstrate an accurate, current knowledge of various movement concepts and sport-specific skills and strategies as well as health-related fitness concepts
A strong passion for sharing your love of movement and physical activity with students of all ages is essential
Incorporate a variety of teaching methods to accommodate multiple learning styles
Use positive motivation to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment which fosters self-esteem
Create a joyful, stimulating learning experience in which to engage the students
Strong planning and organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
COMPENSATION
This is a part-time exempt faculty position position with no benefits. Salary range of $8,000–$10,000, depending on experience, for coaching both teams.
