The Law School Recruiter is responsible for executing the firm's law school recruiting strategy. This includes but is not limited to managing our summer associate program, OCI recruiting process, attending recruiting events, student engagement, campus networking events, and supporting the Senior Manager, Law School Recruiting's initiatives. The Law School Recruiter drives the recruitment process by setting clear expectations and delivering on commitments with a sense of urgency to the business as well as internal and external candidates and incorporating the firm's DEI goals and initiatives into all aspects of the recruiting process.
Essential Functions:
1. Engage with law schools and law student candidates year-round to build employer brand awareness and a strong talent pool.
a. Establish and maintain relationships with Career Service team members and student groups at target law schools to develop brand presence and support the long-term growth strategy.
b. Ensure Benesch brand is present on campus at law schools through regular outreach.
c. Plan and participate in Benesch Hosted law student receptions and law school hosted employer events, both on site and virtual
d. Seek creative ways to engage with law students regularly to build employer brand and awareness.
e. Build relationships with target candidates and facilitate attorney introductions and connections.
2. Coordinate and manage OCI and callback interview Process during 1L and 2L recruiting season.
a. Participate in Resume collection, review, and candidate selection.
b. Coordinate OCI schedule and attorney participants
c. Schedule and participate in call-back interviews.
d. Gather feedback and attend Hiring Committee meetings,
e. Communicate with law student candidates throughout the recruiting process to provide a high-touch, personalized experience.
3. Assist with planning, management, and execution of the summer associate program.
a. Coordinate and manage Summer Associate Program, including training, summer retreat, social events, budget management, evaluation process, and related activities/logistics. Serve as point person for Summer Program, both internally and externally.
b. Maintain Summer Program webpage on Benesch's website, ensuring new and relevant content is constantly added to keep the information fresh.
c. Take an active role in NALP to be an industry expert in law firm summer programs; keep up with trends and bring new ideas and suggestions to the team.
d. Communicate regularly throughout school year with outgoing and incoming Summer Associates to maintain engagement.
e. Serve as point person for law clerks (law students who work with the Firm through the school year).
f. Helps measure the campus recruiting program's successes and identify additional growth opportunities.
4. Participate in the development and execution of diversity pipeline programs at the law student level.
5. Assist in identifying ways to leverage social media and other technology to recruit top talent and brand Benesch as an employer of choice.
6. Work closely with Senior Manager, Law School Recruiting and Marketing Department to develop and maintain law school recruiting materials.
7. Utilizes the Firm's recruitment tools and processes to execute workflow, maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Firm policies and practices.
8. Uses data analysis to assist in making recruiting-related decisions.
9. Travel as needed to attend law school recruiting related events and activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Assist with special project as needed.
2. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
The Legal Recruiter must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of recruiting experience, with at least 2 years of campus level recruiting. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred. An ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, along with strong organizational skills and a client service attitude are required. Must possess a strong desire to learn and be part of a team, have an interest in technology, and be social media savvy. Ability to travel as needed and work overtime/evenings periodically required.
