As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Cooperative, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting functions. You will lead a team responsible for general accounting, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and risk insurance services.

Experience and Skills Needed:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business, accounting, or equivalent, minimum three years of relevant utility accounting experience OR equivalent combination of education, skill, and experience.
Demonstrated strong team leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products manipulating data in Excel. Experience working within a database and/or an integrated accounting system.
Self-motivated, inquisitive, and enthusiastic to learn within a constantly changing industry.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Organized and have an eye for detail.
Demonstrated excellence as a problem solver.
Demonstrate commitment to VEC’s Rules of Engagement.
Proficient math skills and can-do fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Valid Driver’s License to be able to travel occasionally for business.
Capable of sitting and using the computer for long periods of time (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disability to perform the essential functions). Some work is performed in a busy office environment with regular background noise.
