Want to teach math in a way that helps students make deep conceptual connections, along with developing solid skills, and that is engaging for you and students
Are passionate about innovative mathematics teaching and believe in students’ capacity as thoughtful learners and developing leaders
Believe that the words“student-centered” and “inquiry-driven” are core to your philosophy as an educator
In the Bosque School Math Department, we are committed to an approach that goes beyond a passive model of learning and merely imparting math facts. We strive to teach students how to learn and love math. The Middle School Math teacher engages students in true problem-solving, not simply applying rote skills to difficult problems. Technology becomes a tool for discovery and extension, not just a calculation device. When students tackle rich math tasks, ask insightful questions, take risks, practice core skills, and learn from mistakes, they build mathematical capacity, resilience, understanding, and mastery. Moreover, teaching students how to learn and work in a collaborative environment gives them the tools to succeed in tomorrow’s world. As a Middle School Math Teacher who combines mathematical aptitude with mathematically specific pedagogical knowledge, you will be integral to helping us further refine and implement an outstanding, rigorous, and holistic Challenging Education curriculum while bringing wisdom, energy, insight, and warmth to the position and department.
