The University of Florida Department of Recreational Sports (RecSports) is seeking a driven Coordinator for Fitness & Wellness to help lead our efforts in fostering holistic wellbeing through movement, education, and engagement. Primary Duties:
Recruit, hire, schedule, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate fitness Program Assistants, Group Fitness Instructors, Fitness Interns, and other student/OPS employees.
Supervise student staff on shift at multiple facilities, ensuring policy enforcement.
Conduct staff meetings and provide continual training for fitness staff.
Plan and facilitate regular staff meetings and training sessions for each assigned area including awareness and compliance with all University policies and procedures.
Assist with the development of program training manuals and materials including safety and risk management practices to meet national standards and University policy.
Prepare and analyze statistical reports, evaluations, and participation surveys.
Develop and execute new, innovative schedules for group fitness and small group classes each semester in collaboration with other units within RecSports and on-campus partners.

Promote programs by coordinating with the Marketing team to advertise offerings.
Serve as an active member on committees, work teams, and other global efforts within the Department of Recreational Sports.
Prepare and manage bi-weekly payroll and wage schedules and reports.
Ensure Risk Management & Safety protocol are utilized appropriately within all assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience or a master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree, two years of experience in personnel management and fitness programming; understanding of fitness operations in a campus recreation setting; effective communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision, to think laterally, to undertake initiatives, to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to supervise people; physically able to teach/instruct fitness classes, instructor trainings and lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
