Position Summary Bancroft Schoolseeks a motivated and outgoing professional to build and strengthen relationships with its community in support of the School’s mission. TheDirector of Development for Alumni Engagement will lead the strategic planning and execution of initiatives to engage more than 4,000 Bancroft alumni in meaningful and lasting ways.
This position plays a key role in managing alumni volunteers, planning events, and developing a comprehensive alumni communications program. As a vital member of the Advancement team, the Director of Development for Alumni Engagement reports directly to the Director of Advancement.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of success in engaging alumni, parents, or volunteers, along with experience in event planning and relationship management. The school seeks candidates who embrace the opportunities and rewards of working in a vibrant, inclusive, and diverse school community.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Alumni and Volunteer Management:
Provide leadership and direction for alumni communications and programming.
Advance the network of alumni volunteers through the Reunion program and other meaningful opportunities.
Work with the Director of Annual Giving on strategy that focuses on the growth of alumni participation to achieve the school’s fundraising goals.
Serve as Advancement liaison to the Alumni Council and committees.
Manage the Class Secretaries program.
Identify, cultivate, and steward volunteers.
Events Management
Produce, manage, and lead the programs and activities for Homecoming Weekend, GrandFriends Day, Alumni Reunion Weekend, and other events as necessary.
Organize regional and local alumni engagement events.
Develop connections within Bancroft alumni and community resources to create mission-appropriate events.
Identify opportunities for constituents, including alumni and parents, to share their professional expertise with students and faculty.
Other Areas of Responsibility
Manage the bi-annual production schedule of the Bancroft Bulletin alumni magazine with outreach for alumni class notes, as well as identifying and writing feature stories.
Promote alumni recognition through the alumni awards programs.
In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Office, oversee alumni social media presence and website content.
Engage the senior class in preparation for their role as members of the alumni network.
Represent the Advancement Office at school and community events, including occasional nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience within alumni engagement, marketing, events, or volunteer management for a secondary institution, post-secondary educational institution, or similar organization preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
Strong technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or G Suite (experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred); familiarity with website and/or social media content management.
Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Skillset should also include strategic thinking, creativity, data management, flexibility, and high energy.

Compensation & Benefits Bancroft School offers a competitive salary range for this position, determined by the scope of responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational considerations. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including education, experience, skills, expertise, and internal equity.
