The Information Technology Department of Arnold & Porter has a Cloud Applications Engineer opening. This position may work 100% virtual/remote in a Firm approved U.S. state. The Cloud Applications Engineer will be responsible for implementing and supporting the Firm’s core cloud-based applications including but not limited to Microsoft M365, Google Workspace, and Adobe Document Cloud. The Cloud Applications Engineer will report to the Senior Manager of Enterprise Applications, providing guidance and support for the Firm’s cloud and cloud-hybrid initiatives. The Engineer will meet with key business stake holders, gather requirements, and deliver a great user experience through cloud-based technologies such as seamless single sign-on.
The successful candidate will be passionate, motivated, and have a willingness to adopt new technologies in the cloud applications space. Strong problem-solving skills involving both on-premise and cloud-based environments, as well as the ability to quickly triage and manage priorities are a must for this role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Implementing, configuring, and providing escalation support for cloud-based and cloud-hybrid Enterprise applications including: Microsoft M365, Google Workspace, etc.
Managing cloud-connected application integrations points such as SSO configurations (SAML) and user provisioning (SCIM, JIT).
Researching and maintaining the latest cloud-based application trends such as the M365 roadmap and initiating proactive recommendations with IT leadership.
Developing documentation, guidelines, and procedures for efficiently supporting cloud-based applications.
Reviewing cloud-based application utilization to ensure cost-effective use and initiating recommendations to the Senior Manager of Enterprise Applications for licensing adjustments.
Working closely with the IT Security and Infrastructure Teams to ensure security and availability for cloud-based applications.
Working closely with Technology Support, Technology Training, and Data Governance teams to ensure that features and enhancements of cloud-based applications are being utilized appropriately.
Qualifications:
Four-year college degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
Microsoft Azure and M365 certifications are a plus.
Minimum of five (5) years of customer support experience supporting a diverse customer base including C-level executives.
Minimum of three (3) years of implementing and supporting cloud-based application services.
Prior working experience in legal or professional service organization is desired, but not required.
Experience with cloud-based administration consoles (M365, Google Workspace, etc.)
Experience with Azure Active Directory integration, configuration, and administration.
Experience with standard legal applications (Microsoft Office, iManage, Adobe, etc.)
Experience with MFA systems such as Azure MFA.
Solid understanding of Windows server and business operating systems (Server 2012 R2 - 2022, Windows 10, 11).
High level proficiency in PowerShell.
Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewall ports, etc.).
Software development experience and knowledge of the software development lifecycle are a plus.
Outstanding customer service skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and skills with frequent shifting priorities.
Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced and ever-changing environment.
Ability to communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability and confidence to work within all levels of the organization.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
