BHE GT&S is an interstate natural gas transmission and storage company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, with operations in 10 states. This position can operate from one of the following office locations: BHE GT&S Headquarters in Richmond, VA, Greystone in Columbia SC, White Oaks in Bridgeport, WV or Cove Point in Lusby, MD.
In this role you will serve as the BHE GT&S primary contact on income tax matters.
Responsibilities include:
Manages income tax function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of all federal, state, and local income tax returns, and monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Assists in preparing and reviewing effective tax rate analysis, tax roll-forward schedules, cash tax reports, estimated income tax payments, and other tax-related schedules.
Manages quarterly estimates paid to federal and state authorities.
Supports tax planning and forecasting.
Provides written and/or oral responses and testimony to federal, state, and regulatory authorities, and supports all regulatory matters concerning income taxes.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
7+ years of big four or industry equivalent tax experience.
Certified public accountant preferred.
Strong federal, state, and local income tax compliance experience.
Strong tax consolidation experience, both with financial statements and tax returns.
Working knowledge of tax systems.
Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws, tax compliance systems, regulatory and tax accounting, and company operations.
Ability to communicate complex concepts to others.
Knowledge of tax research methodology.
Affiliation with national, state and industry tax associations.
Effective written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
Effective analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Project management skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor. Preferred Disciplines: Accounting, Business Administration. Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed.
