Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Review financial reports and statements, budgets and forecasts and other financial information, systems of internal controls and procedures, auditing, accounting, and financial reporting processes, including for portfolio companies with public securities. Assist portfolio companies in evaluating and executing changes to their capital structures. Assist portfolio companies in the evaluation, due diligence, and financing structure of acquisition and divestiture activity. Assist with sourcing of investment opportunities through attendance at conferences, interactions with other internal and external advisors and meetings with executives across various industries. Evaluate risks of investment opportunities across sectors including infrastructure, industrials, energy transition and sustainability. Recommend debt and equity investments to seasoned Investment Committee. Assist with production of presentation materials for Investment Committee discussions. Negotiate terms and structures of debt and equity investments. Observe portfolio company board meeting and spend time working with existing portfolio company management (C-suite) on capital structure, add-on M&A and financial reporting presentation.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or related field. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include two (2) years with the following: analyzing, evaluating and executing mid and large cap (enterprise value of $500 million and more) sellside transactions; developing fully integrated cash flow, balance sheet and P&L financial models, including accounting adjustments; developing equity (including merger, preferred structures and LBO) and debt transaction models; developing complex industry-specific operating models such as contribution margin analysis, bottom-up customer-level P&L, IPO pay-down, segment carve-out, software, financial technology, industrial technology models with probabilistic scenarios; developing valuation and model analysis for Fairness Committees and presentations to Board of Directors at various companies to make strategic M&A decisions; working directly with key stakeholders at various companies including CEOs, CFOs and Finance Teams on transaction; negotiating transaction documentation such as share purchase agreements, management agreements, Option plans and grants; and conducting due diligence and in-depth valuation across various industries. FINRA SIE and Series 79 licenses required. Monthly travel is required 10% of time in the Americas and Canada to meet with portfolio companies and evaluate potential investment opportunities.
Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $162,000 - $225,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
