Summary:

This position will provide for the operation, installation, testing, checkout and maintenance of telecommunication and associated equipment on the Great River Energy (GRE) system.

A typical starting range for this position is $46.27 - 50.36 per hour. We offer market competitive base pay and adjust our offer accordingly based upon the value of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience. Key Responsibilities:

Performs and/or assists in the installation, testing, and checkout of telecommunication equipment, including:

• Networking routers, switches, access points, VOIP phone systems, MPLS, T1, LTE,
• Motorola Trunked Mobile Radio Systems, Spread Spectrum and microwave radio systems, MiMo,
• SCADA, RTUs, DNP/Modbus, Cybectec/SEL substation intelligent electronic devices, load management equipment,
• Communication site maintenance, power transfer switches, UPS batteries and chargers, alarm/monitoring systems,
• Fiber optics systems including CWDM/DWDM, OPGW, ADSS, fusion splicing & terminations,
• Develops and updates maintenance procedures along with maintaining equipment records.

Qualifications:

• Two-year telecommunications, or networking technology, or related degree; or a diploma and/or certifications with 3+ years’ experience and knowledge in telecommunications, networks, or wireless communications.
• Strong electrical and instrumentation aptitude
• Knowledge of AC power measurement, familiarity with inductance, capacitance and power factor
• Experience with RF and optical test equipment, including communication analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and TDRs/OTDRs.
• Cisco network experience/certification, as well as Avionics training are highly preferred.
• FCC license w/radar endorsement and other certifications will be considered.
• Must be able to reside within 30 miles living radius or 45-mile driving distance from the reporting location. Relocation allowance available.
