The Energy Resources Lead will integrate resource planning, power supply and wholesale contract engagements. They will provide administration, implementation and optimization of the supply side, distributed and demand side resource portfolio for the cooperative. The position will report to the VP of Energy Services and work collaboratively across the cooperative and externally with power suppliers and stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration, cost management and optimization of power supply, wholesale contracts and energy market activity.
Develop and implement energy resource planning models, load forecasts, potential studies and rate analysis.
Build the energy resource strategy.
Represent the cooperative and engage stakeholders on regional and regulatory matters related to energy resources.
Planning and analyzing of load management and demand response.
Evolution and growth of the energy resource function.
Lives the Spirit of Our Cooperative.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, mathematics or related field
Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in utility power supply
At least five (5) years of progressive experience in the power/utility industry, reflecting an increasing scope of knowledge and responsibilities around resource planning, wholesale energy markets, risk management and/or closely related activities within a utility setting
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of the electric utility industry, business and operations and understanding of FERC, NERC MISO and state regulatory requirements and issues
Interpersonal skills including clear and concise communication both in writing and verbally
Potential for future hybrid work schedule. Office located in Jordan, Minnesota.
