Wolverine Power Cooperative seeks a talented and driven cyber security specialist to join our team. You will be working alongside a network of professionals who are passionate about their purpose, the company, and serving Wolverine's members.
As our Cyber Security Specialist, you will be responsible for Wolverine's physical and electronic security perimeters, as well as ongoing compliance with NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards.
Some essential duties & responsibilities include:
Performing vulnerability assessments and recommend suggested firewall changes.
Assessing and maintaining risk-based cybersecurity programs, mapping said assessments to existing and upcoming security standards.
Configuring, maintaining, and updating various cybersecurity and system monitoring tools.
Collaborating with the Compliance Coordinator to develop, review, and maintain CIP compliance procedures, communicate changes to existing procedures and internal controls, and lead process documentation.
Managing Wolverine's employee CIP training program.
Participating in regional and national compliance forums.
Monitoring and responding to automated alerts.
Establishing, implementing and enforcing LAN hardware/software installation, upgrade, maintenance, and network administration and security processes/procedures.
Interacting and negotiating with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure products and services.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Cyber Security Administration or Computer Science, or equivalent experience required.
Information Systems security Engineering Professional certifications desired (e.g. CISSP, GCFA, GCTI, CCSP, etc).
A minimum of five years progressive experience in IT security or compliance validation (NERC CIP, NIST CSF, ISO 27001).
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting vulnerability management, data encryption, data loss prevention, SIEM, intrusion prevention, and/or other security controls.
Ability to plan and work in a team and individual environment, with strong organizational, problem-solving skills, compliance focus, and attention to detail required. Strong written and verbal communication skills required, along with knowledge of databases and computer development.
